To reach a younger demographic online and to convey that the business is heavily connected and invested in the community. With a limited advertising budget, the advertising team came up with creative solutions to both objectives.
Fluvanna “Do It Best” Hardware located near the main gate at the Lake Monticello neighborhood in Fluvanna County realized early on in their business how important reaching out to local customers and showing community support really is. Renny Megahan and Jeff Craig, owners and operators, knew to reach not only the Lake Monticello populace but also those do- it-yourself enthusiasts outside of their immediate trading area. And in order to do so, they would need to expand their advertising footprint.
Fluvanna “Do It Best” Hardware also understands the importance of giving back to the community and are known for hosting “hyper-local” events like pep rallies and open house seminars so that customers get to know the staff and understand that they are part of their community too.
They recently added advertising campaigns on ruralvirginia.com, the companion website to their primary print advertising vehicle, our weekly Rural Virginian newspaper. In addition, they targeted adults age 25 – 45 with online advertising on Yahoo! This multimedia approach was not only affordable for their budget but also offers expanded reach in the market.
